Dr. Janos Barrera is a board-certified plastic surgeon and Assistant Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, holding a joint appointment in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery.

His clinical practice is dedicated to hand and upper extremity surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, and orthoplastic and microsurgical reconstruction. He sees patients at NYU Langone Health in Queens, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, and Ortho MediSys, and holds a surgical affiliation with Bellevue Hospital Center.

Dr. Barrera earned his MD from Stanford University School of Medicine (2016), completed his Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Residency at Stanford Health Care (2023), and his Hand & Upper Extremity Fellowship at NYU Langone (2024). He is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Recipient of a Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) Pilot Research Grant to investigate the cellular mechanisms underlying Dupuytren disease using single-cell transcriptomic analysis (2021).
